Temporary planning provisions finish
All temporary legislative provisions introduced as a result of Covid-19 finished at the end of September.
These measures included extensions to planning permission and listed building consents, as well as the suspension of the need for physical public events in respect of pre-application consultation.
Meanwhile, new planning legislation came into force from October for pre-application consultation, which requires a minimum of two public events, newspaper notices, consultation with relevant community councils and new statutory requirements on the content of the pre-application consultation report. New regulations also apply on the duration of planning permissions and planning permissions in principle.
