£110m funding for rural development

The government has set aside £110m of funding from the Rural England Prosperity Fund for rural businesses to support countryside communities across England.

The funding will be invested in projects to boost productivity and create rural job opportunities.

includes farm businesses looking to diversify by opening a farm shop, wedding venue or tourism facilities or improvements to village halls, pubs and other rural hubs for community uses.

The Rural England Prosperity Fund will be available to eligible local authorities and, according to the government, give local leaders a greater say in investment than previously under EU schemes.
